SUMMER PROGRAMS

Each Summer we offer programs in musical theatre, voice, and theatre taught
by our own faculty and special guests. In 2014 we were pleased to welcome

Guest Martha Farrell

Martha is happy to be returning home to the Maritimes to be working, for a second time, with the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada, this time as Guest faculty with the Centre for Arts and Education.

 

She was last home in 2013, working with TNB in association with the Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada, on a unique production of Romeo and Juliet. Other TNB credits include - The Gifts of the Magi and The Graduate.

She has spent 8 seasons with The Stratford Festival of Canada, selected highlights include -  Camelot, The Misanthrope, Dangerous Liaisons, Peter Pan, The Importance of Being Earnest, Cyrano de Bergerac, Don Juan, The Winter's Tale, A Midsummer Night's Dream, As You like It, The Tempest, The Birds,  Quiet in the Land, Richard III and Romeo and Juliet.

 

Martha recently took a turn in Stage West's hilarious production of The 39 Steps.  Prior to that, Martha was a young company member with the Charlottetown Festival before sailing the seas as a lead singer on cruise ships that traveled from Europe throughout the Caribbean Islands, all the way to the South Pacific.  She is a graduate of Sheridan College's Music Theatre Performance Program and The Birmingham Conservatory for Classical Theatre Training (Stratford).  A recipient of The Yellow Rose Memorial Award, The Rosemary Burns Award and The Greg Bond Award (Theatre Sheridan); The Mary Savage Award and The Jean A. Chalmer's Award (Stratford)

 

Martha is delighted to be participating in The Atlantic Ballet's Centre for Arts and Education inaugural music theatre summer training program.  "I believe training and exposure to the craft, is an essential part of development for young theatre artists in New Brunswick!“  A native of Moncton New Brunswick, among her career highlights, Martha has spent eight seasons with The Stratford Festival of Canada.  She is a graduate of Sheridan College's Music Theatre Performance Program and The Birmingham Conservatory for Classical Theatre Training (Stratford).  A recipient of The Yellow Rose Memorial Award, The Rosemary Burns Award and The Greg Bond Award (Theatre Sheridan); The Mary Savage Award and The Jean A. Chalmer's Award (Stratford).
